Re: Marinette Nameplate
My problem is that I don't have any emblems. They were gone when I bought the boat. I have been looking all over for at least one. If I find one, I can get it 3D scanned and have one printed. But I am stuck on step 1, finding one.

Re: Marinette Nameplate
I have a friend who built his own 3D printer, and loves to use it. If I could find one good emblem for my 72, I would make new ones. Mine is different from all the other emblems I have seen. I missed out on the one I need in cast aluminum on ebay a few months ago.

Re: carburetor rebuild
Also, if it is a quadrajet, make sure you clean and seal the main well plugs with epoxy (jb weld works good, not jb kwik). Also, follow all adjustment procedures supplied with the kit, especially the secondary air valve spring. If the kit doesn't have the specs, you can check online, with one of the...

Re: Where can I get a proper thermostat ?
The photo is of the 67 318 setup . Mine is a 73 28ft single 318 and is the same as yours. I think they dropped the screw in t-Stat around 1968 and went with the bypass Stat that was used into the 1980s. I just scrapped my last screw in set up. I have always converted them to the next series. Marysv...

Re: Starter Removal NOT GOOD
If you got a spark show, then it sounds like all your connections in the starter are good. Here is one more thing to try. Put a socket and breaker bar on the crank and try to turn the engine by hand. It sounds stupid, but I had this happen just the other day on a big Yanmar. Everything pointed to th...

Re: Starter Removal NOT GOOD
Before you spend all the time to yank the starter, be darn sure the starter is the issue. Sounds like you verified there is no issue on the positive side but don't forget the negative. Easy test, take a set of jumper cables. Hook one lead to the negative battery post, then the other to the body of t...

Re: 360 Chrysler running like crap cont...
I know that there are so many different components that can cause these problems. Intermittent issues are the worst to diagnose, and many owners AND technicians will start to change parts to find the problem. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. Sometimes it will temporarily mask the real proble...

Re: Looking for a 3 way water manifold for one of my 440's
Are you talking about the bypass, or mixing tee, used on early raw water cooled engines? If so, I have three original cast iron examples that are like new. I just need to know the hose sizes.

Re: Non-electric chokes not opening.....
I assume you have the style of choke spring mounted in the exhaust crossover? If so, I would suspect that the crossover ports in the head/intake are plugged with carbon. Especially if it had been run for years without t-stats. Even more so if the restrictor is installed in the gaskets. Good way to c...
