Connect the tachsto the negative side of the coil.

They are both the same distributors, they both spin the same way.The firing order is differend on each motor. I installed two of these on my 28'.The first two rusted so badly within two seasons they were not useable. Pertronix sent me two new ones which olso rusted immediatly. Pertronix later sent m...

I had a similar problem it turned out to be the wire from the ignition switch to the gauges .It only did the stalling when hot. Two times I had this issue on both motors. One motor the wire was bad on the dash panel, I replaced it and all is well with this motor. It then happened with the other moto...

Mine did the same thing the thermostat was bad. After I changed it temp went back to normal.

Mine did the same thing, I sprayed electronic cleaner in the switch. Its working fine now. Let the cleaner dry before starting it is very flammable.
If that doesn't work you need to replace the switch.

Mine were worse than that. I even sprayed them with boeshield corrosion inhibitor before the start of last season,Didn't do much at all.
I am guessing I need to sand and oil on a regulator basis to keep rust off.

Pertronix does not have felt below the rotor.
Mine were rusted enough that the weights didn't return after start up, this caused the boat to not start again.
I had to take the distributors apart and sand all of the rust off and lube all of the parts.
Sent email to Pertronix and got no response.
