Iron fittings in hull......
So, there's a 28' Sedan docked astern of our boat. The owner uses the boat casually, maybe once a month. He's a nice guy and has made many expensive cosmetic improvements to the boat over the last two years. Obviously, I like Marinettes and have kept an eye on it. There is always something to learn ...

Jeff-
Last I checked, lake level was around 1,070 feet. That is within a few few of summer full pool. Plenty of water to slow down the prop repair business.

Re: Marinette Raft up on Lake Lanier
Yeah Bill, he is very sharp. Wish he lived closer.
Give him a volt meter, vacuum gauge and set of hand tools and he is like MacGyver around engines. Especially around Marinettes. I ask him questions all the time.
Glad he could help. Thanks for keeping him busy.

Marinette Raft up on Lake Lanier
Is anyone on Lake Lanier interested in getting together for an afternoon? There are at least 15 Marinettes on the south end of the lake. Would be a good afternoon. We could congregate near marker D in the three sisters islands.
If interested let me know.

Chrysler Electronic ignition woes......
So, it's the unexpected components that fail. Warming the boat up this morning, I noticed a slight misfire in the engine. I checked a few things and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Coil voltage was correct, coil primary and secondary resistance was normal, plenty of voltage to the ECM, resistor ...

Re: Electrical Inspection Checklist
I'm doing the same thing on our boat. Luckily, the POs left most of the original systems alone and added their own custom systems. I started at the panel, traced wires back to the source and fixed from there. There was a power wire connected to the ground bonding strip, open power wires, open grounds...

Re: Maybe a dumb question?
Joe- I'm in the same position as you. Trim tabs are $500 - $1,000. Bow rides high and she doesn't like to plane with three or four people on the aft deck. The surface area required to bring the boat to plane is something like 4 square feet ( 2 1' x 2' tabs). I'll probably bite the bullet and put tab...

318 Oil Pressure sender line
The small hose routed from the block to the oil pressure sender has been leaking. It's the small hydraulic hose with a metal spring cover. Temporarily, I replaced it with a length of fuel hose and clamps. Oil pressure is only 30 pounds so this should hold for now. Should be replaced with a similar s...

Re: Mopar 318/ 360 Fuel Pump Problems
You know, that makes alot of sense. I've been dealing with fuel supply issues. Occassionally, the motor will mysteriuously become starved for fuel after running for an hour or so. It has never really had full power or planed well. At full throttle, it won't rev higher than 3300 RPM. I've worked thro...

Sea Hawk Smart Solutions Bottom Paint
The majority of people in the forum are Interlux paint loyalists. For the record, my father has always used Trilux on his Marinettes. However, I decided to break from the norm and try a different paint. After speaking sales reps about Petit, Interlux and Sea Hawk paints, I decided to try the Seahawk...
