Re: EFI Repower

So the NEW generation does? Where is the sensor?

Jeff

PS: Running in open loop, the old EFI set up shouldn't do any better on gas mileage than a well-tuned carb. Motor would start and initially idle better, I suppose.

Re: EFI Repower

..."Marine engines are open loop (don't use O2 sensors"

Then how do they work properly? I seem to recall seeing an O2 sensor on a Mercruiser EFI engine.

Re: EFI Repower

You can easily adapt a Velvet Drive to a SB Chevy, but the EFI set up presents a problem: Were do you put the O2 sensor? Modern EFI marine engines are designed with the sensor located where it will work properly. Not sure how to do that in this case. Why not a carb? hey work well on a marine engines...

Re: solenoid

There's two varieties of these things: Those meant for starting the engine, and those that are a remote switch (left on) for paralleling the batteries. The latter is 'soft' energizing and can be left on without damage.

Re: Spray foam insulation

Having spent many nights on mine--summer and winter--I can attest that aluminum boats are great conductors of heat and need all the insulation they can get!

Good to hear. How's the performance and gas mileage compared to the stock motors?

The ones I bought went on mid-80s Camaros.
