Re: auto pilot
The "Admiral" was my autopilot. Worked at any speed.Jeff I had the other model. I once gave the mate the wheel while I peed and directed that the boat be kept headed toward point x (probably a bright buoy). On returning, we were headed toward point y, 180 degrees off course. Relieved of d...

Re: Prepping for Topside Restoration and Paint.
Screwed in. When we repainted, my effort to save money was to remove the bow rails and all other external h'ware and replace them. I worked carefully to get out screw by screw. When done, I was told by yard mechanic I didn't have to be so careful. Muscling them out didn't matter. enlarged holes coul...

Re: Marinette purchase advice
You will get subjective replies. Jeff took down his FB, I absolutely loved mine. Some think it makes the boat top heavy and catches wind. I loved the commanding view and because the captain sits about midship, there was less pitching. Docking was easier because the view was 360. Sometimes, not often...

Re: Flags
A suggestion - if you plan to buy a flag get three. They take a beating from sun and weather. Having mutiples means you won't have to buy again soon. In the meantime, you can use them as cabin decor

Re: Flags
The pennants on their web site have the seahorse icon but it's encircled by the club name. They do provide a B&W pdf file of the seahorse which you can send to a pennant/flag maker

Re: Marinette purchase advice
A 32 wouldn't be all that different to handle than a 28. If you have twin engines (assuming both are operating) it's easy. Take a safe boating course, get a patient teacher, and spend time learning how to operate the boat. Yep, and that extra 4' of space will reward you many times for the small add...

Re: 1988 Marinette 32 Sedan For Sale
Nostalgia moment.. that boat is if not identical twin, certainly a fraternal twin to the one we sold 6 yrs ago and, if maintained, should still be going strong. I got a kick out of the placement of the brass clock and barometer. Same spot ours was mounted in. I could still rummage thru this boat bli...

Re: Marinette purchase advice
two thoughts: it should be no harder to remove cig smell from a boat than from, say a dwelling. Lots of info on the web. If we could get the smell of putrified bait out of the boat in a summer fiasco, you can get cig smell out. Activated charcoal - avail in pet fish stores and online - is great at t...

Re: Barnaclerid and other Copper Ion Systems
First question is whether it's safe for use on aluminum hulls. And is the $1,500 a one time charge. Are there Maintenance costs?? And if criteers DO grow, is there a warranty and just how good is that warranty?
