Re: engine swap
So the way it sounds 360's will slide right in place of the 318's. With the purchase of a couple of flywheels and harmonic balancers I'll be back in business, thanks for the info. Harry

Re: engine swap
When you talk internal and external balancing can I just buy 360 flywheels and harmonic balancers to put on the longblocks or do the entire rotating assembles need to balanced together at the time of re-manufacturing thanks

Re: Sherwood Raw Water Pump
Both of my raw water pumps are jabsco pumps and very expensive to replace. I bought bearings, impeller and ceramic seal and case "O" ring, basically a rebuild kit from a company called Pumpco in St. Petersburg Fl. The seal itself is around 40 bucks and is the toughest part of the rebuild, ...

Re: engine swap
I was wondering if the motor mounts would be exactly the same so as to have no mods needed for the 360. The starboard motor runs fine but has poor oil pressure (12-15psi) and is probably not long for this world, that's how the WOT issues will eventually be addressed . If I were to do this up grade I...

engine swap
Hi guys I was wondering if a Chrysler 360 would bolt right in place for a 318. My port motor is bad and a 360 re-builds cost nearly the same as a 318 but have more HP. THANKS

I think you can only get the Jasper motors through one of their authorized installers. They do have a good reputation ,thanks for the info. Harry B

Re: engine popping
I appreciate the offer on the cam but along with the flat cam lobe the #8 exhaust push rod was bent so the valve has stuck at one time or another or maybe even hit the piston, The motor did pass a compression check with all cylinders between 125-140 psi before I pulled the valve covers. I have been ...

engine popping
I have been having a power loss and popping back through the carb. on the port motor. After doing a lot of trouble shooting including changing to a LX301 ignition module and a accel coil that can take a full 12 volts all the time I removed the valve covers and #8 exhaust cam lobe is flat. The motor ...

Re: Uneven engine power 318 starbord engine weak
Hi guys I have been having problems with my port motor stalling at idle and popping back through the carb under rapid throttle advancement, done a lot of checking and finally pulled the valve covers and no. 8 exhaust valve is not operating, flat cam lobe. I was wondering where to get a re-man. marin...

Re: Swithching to hydraulic steering- Anyone done this on their own?
Hi if you use seastar hydraulic helms you do not need a reservoir or a relief valve. The helms acts as the reservoir and they have internal safety relief valves built in. I think it would be very difficult to put hydraulic steering on only one station.
