Re: 318 stroker motor 330 HP 349 cu.in.

OK. The HEI module is controlling the spark. It provides a much better spark than the stock Mopar module. Unless you have a computer controlled ignition system, you still have either vacuum or mechanical advance mechanisms controlling the ignition system advance curves. There are springs located und...

New to the family: '91 34' SDFB

In the early 90's, my dad sea trialed a new 34'M and immediately fell in love with the boat. It solved all of his points of frustration with his 32'. In his opinion, it was the best hull design ACI ever produced. Unfortunately, he couldn't afford it. Earlier this year, I looked at a 91 34' M in MI. ...

Re: 318 stroker motor 330 HP 349 cu.in.

Which ignition system are you running ? Have you verified the total ignition advance? If initial advance is 11 degrees and you have the stock Chrysler mechanical advance, your total advance should be 31 to 35 degrees. While the initial advance is important, you might want to adjust the springs to ra...

A word on Mallory brand ignition parts......

I was informed by a marine supply company that Sierra has purchased the Mallory brand name. They have begun substituting Sierra parts for Mallory parts. How do I know? The previous owner, whom I've dubbed "Best Buy Bob", installed Sierra distributor caps and rotors (he left the box tops in...

Re: Waste Tank - 1989 32 Sedan Flybridge

Craig- I wish it was located under the v-berth. That would simplify the changes. The macerator pump is located forward of the head with a discharge hose routed to the stern along the hull. It is not under the salon or in the stern. I'm guessing it is located under the galley. With my luck, it will b...

Re: Waste Tank - 1989 32 Sedan Flybridge

I would rather comply with the law than try to evade an inspection. Swimming in sewage is not my idea of fun.

It's sorta like swimming near private docks and in marinas. You just don't do it. Never know if or when electricity is in the water.

Re: Waste Tank - 1989 32 Sedan Flybridge

Dave- Yes. Very aware of the no discharge rule in Lake Lanier. There were two large vessels in our marina cited by the DNR this year for discharging waste. I heard the fines were in excess of $10,000 per vessel. Hence, the reason I am concerned about the macerator pump. It is connected to a thru hul...

Waste Tank - 1989 32 Sedan Flybridge

This should be a quick answer for someone... Where is the waste tank? I'm assuming this boat has the 18 gal. waste tank. I've narrowed the location to two areas: 1) Below the head or 2) Below the galley. The macerator pump discharge hose routes to the stern along the starboard side. The previous own...

Prop Size 89 32' SDFB with/318s

Normally, I would look at Althouse's Marinette site for this information. However, the site is down.

I searched this forum and the size has not been reference in any posts.

What is the prop size for a 1989 32' SDFB with 318's?

Thanks!

Eric

Re: Potting Compound Melting

IMO - there is no difference between the automotive and marine ICM. I buy the Autozone part. I believe the part number is CR109. While youre at it, replace the ballast resistor. It is part no CR105.

I tell them to use a 1976 Dodge Charger as the vehicle.
