Re: Sunken 32`

Well we are on to Chapter 2 of Sunken 32. We pulled her a couple weeks ago for her yearly power wash and she was an absolute mess. Long story short.....we have now had the hull Dustless Blasted to bare aluminum and will be starting the welding/primer/paint process tomorrow.

Re: Crank Mount Raw Water Pump

Well my 1990 32 SDFB has plenty of room in front of the two 318's to run the pumps. I'm not sure when I'll actually get to it considering we're having to replace exhaust pieces, thru hulls, bottom paint, top side paint, props, etc. etc. etc.

Crank Mount Raw Water Pump

Has anyone converted their raw water pumps from belt drive to crank drive on their chryslers yet? If not, I will probably be attempting this and providing a write up. Benefits include: much less side load on bearings, less maint (eliminating the belt), possibly more reliable (eliminating the belt), ...

Re: Not even sure how to ask about this...

Mine has been in salt for quite some time. She doesn't really look all that great, but thats from lack of proper care more than anything. We have plenty of aluminum boats that stay wet year round here, I wouldn't worry about it. Educate yourself on how to maintain a wet slipped salt water boat.

Re: Oil Consumption

Start with the easy! 1) Fill the boat up with gas and go run her hard, should be able to get the boat planed out and see no more than 4400 RPM at WOT. The problem isn't as prevalent in gas engines, but I used to work on diesels all the time that had been idled around and were developing problems.......

rear couch/bed

I know its a long shot, but does anyone have any drawings or pictures of the rear couch/bed. We have had our boat a few years and can't seem to locate a replacement, so we are going to build one. Thanks

Re: Water out of spark plugs hole.

Yeop, as said above just go ahead and run em. It doesn't take much light corrosion on a valve seat to show low compression or crazy leak down numbers. I know I'll probably catch flack for this, but I've done this many many many times, take a stuck engine and lube the crap out of every part that rubs...
