Custom rear top fabrication
OK, like everything else I seem to do, I'm going to look into making my Bimini replacement something way too complicated. I'm looking at fabricating one with my friend (who creates full size Russian fighter jets out of paper) to make it look cool, give my lanky @55 more head roof and a roof rack for...

Re: 318 stroker motor 330 HP 349 cu.in.
Jeff, we must be telepathically connected :) I just came to the same conclusion yesterday as I got the part list back and realized its only $800 more to get the stroker and + 100hp. Pretty sure I'll be getting mine from Atlantic Marine. 2 year warranty and they do a ton of them. 1 question I have is...

Re: Aft Deck Restoration
Agree on the screwing it down so you can easily work below. Be sure to consider a gutters or channels for the water to clear the deck. A lot of the corrosion issues I see are due to the really flat deck designs and the water runs off the side and down into the bilge more than those poor drains. Also...

Re: Caribbean cruising
I'm here in Miami (may be the only Big M here by the looks I get :) Are your engines raw water cooled? Mine are and I get nervous but that will only speed up the death of the manifolds and eventually block. I do the flush thing with the salt off detergent in a 5 gal bucket when I cruise to the islan...

Replacing my 318 with a new 360
Hey guys, So I'm almost done with my home remodel and am starting to plan my spring time activities with my boat. I started it up and it was knocking really bad. So I guess getting water in that cylinder did her in. That said, I want to upgrade if I'm going to do all that work and $$ and the 360 giv...
