Re: Overcharging alternator

I can't envision an alternator and am too lazy to dig my old one out of the garage, but is it possible to reverse the fan blades (remove, turn around, replace) or are they installed with a very tight press fit almost impossible to remove?

Re: Coupler Alignment - Vibration

IT sounds as if you are putting this matter behind you, moving on. But your discussion with the marina operator should serve to put them on notice that in the future, more care should be exercised to see that the straps are properly placed. It's simple, good protocol in marina lifts. One thing you m...

Re: Coupler Alignment - Vibration

Bill: OF course, without question, if there were a straight shaft and a bent one after lifting the boat -- and you could show strap misplacement was an issue, you have reason to ask the Marina to take responsibility. I think the worn out phrase "man up" applies. They will duck and run as y...

If I were King: The grinding noise could be coming from multiple sources when you hit the short hard chop on Lake Erie. Push and pull on the shaft at the strut and if there's excessive (you're the judge) play, replace the bearing. Turn the prop - if it's hard to turn by hand, replace the bearing. I ...

Re: I Moved my black water tank in the Vee berth!!

Was just alluding to the word "generally" which is bureaucratically vague. Aside from that, you must have had some interesting experiences working the busy maritime environment of the lower Miss. I've seen the boat traffic there and it's sometimes like I-4985 at rush hour around here.

Re: I Moved my black water tank in the Vee berth!!

They get caught falsifying records and breaking environmental laws every summer in Alaska. I've seen the sludge behind the cruise ships leave a trail as far as you can see. Next time I will notify the Coast Guard, I have a private number I can call on my cell phone just for this. And, if you can, s...

Here's what Royal Caribbean says about waste disposal (note they didn';t explain bilge water) "...Cruise ships have a water-treatment system onboard, similar to your hometown. With over 7,000 passengers and crew, Symphony of the Seas generates 210,000 gallons of black water and one million gall...
