When I installed the test Pertronix units in 2012 we used the collar that was used on the OEM Prestolite on STB engine. No issues.
I had heard there was an early issue with the collar supplied with new units from Pertronix but it was corrected. Must have got one that was early.

I have been field testing a Pertronix Dist. with their ignition. I am now on season 7 and am not looking back.

I have ran a Xantrex 1800 watt inverter for years on my boat. I run 2 deep cycle 6 volt golf cart batteries in series. Inverter works fine for light loads. Ideal range:
.95-1.05
numbers will vary depending on water clarity and wether fresh or salt water.
