Re: Painting with Imron Paint
I would contact a rep for the paint and find out what they think. I can tell you this, we have a locomotive painted with Imron in 1991 that is just now looking like it needs touched up, not repainted. It is tough stuff.

Re: Newbie here
I get my cams through Summit racing
Melling
Std. Rotation p/n 23103
Reverse rot. P/n 23104
Still readily available.
The only difference I have found in cranks is the direction of hatch marks where the seal rides.

Can't help you much on the hull, but if you need info or parts for the the old Rambler 327, let me know. They are a unique, but reliable and extremely well built engine. The engine and 1:1 velvet drive weighs 925lbs alone without risers.
Happy boating!

Re: 318 "302" heads.....
I will have to check, but I think I have a set of those heads.
Also, if everything checks out good on your engines, I would leave them alone. Cracking into a known good engine that doesn't click, tick or smoke is the easiest way to decrease reliability.

Re: 318 stroker motor 330 HP 349 cu.in.
Since you have increased your rpm and hp, maybe you should look at a different prop to take advantage of that. I am not necessarily talking different diameter or pitch, but a different blade design. The factory props are good, but do slip alot. I installed Acme CNC props on my 32 this year. I don't ...

Re: No oul pressure reading at either helm
Simple test to start with. Disconnect the wire from the sender. Have someone watch either gauge with the ignition on for that engine. Touch the wire for the sender to the engine block. If the gauge jumps, then you know the issue is in the sender. If nothing moves, then you have an issue on the gauge...

Re: replacing aft deck
I purchased the light silver diamond pattern. I carried a sample with me for a day and checked the temp in the sun. 120 degrees was as hot as it would get in 2pm full sun. The pontoon I was working on at the same time had carpet that hit 160 degrees.

Home depot calls it HDX flooring. It is designed for garage floors. It should be going in this weekend.

Re: Reworking 318 heads, single engine 28' express.
If the $700 is just for rebuilding the heads, that is way too much. My last 318 was just shy of $700, but that was rebuilding heads, boring block, cam bearings, and all new brass core plugs. I think you could buy two brand new heads for around that price. He should have done a leak down test before ...

Re: replacing aft deck
I just recieved my new cockpit floor material yesterday, and cut it out to match the floor. I put down all new plywood (coated with epoxy) and purchased a roll of MIP diamond plate mat from home depot. This stuff comes 10' wide, so I have eliminated all the factory seams except for the hatches. It i...
