Re: 39 Sedan purchase & transport

I would see if there is a forklift or boom truck available. Faster and safer.

Re: Who not to shop from

I looked for a list and couldn't find one, just this thread. Hoping that this will come up if someone does a search. Is there a list and how would I find it? -Thanks, Ed

Re: Who to not to shop from

Will put my comments here too, so they might be found easier by someone doing a search. Very good company with excellent service. They are now the first place I will go to for parts and will recommend them to everyone. They are .. LandMarineToys .... They are on Amazon and E-bay but I just order dir...

Who to buy from--LandMarineToys

Found a good company to deal with. Ordered parts from them because they had good prices. One small mistake, they sent one box of four sparkplugs instead of one box of eight sparkplugs. Contacted them and the boss got right on it, e-mailed an employee to see why the mistake was made and sent me a cop...

Re: Anyone familiar with the boat "Precious Metal"? Catawba Island, Ohio

You might ask around at the local repair shops and marinas. Look up the boat registration number with the state and if you have a property tax there, check their records. Any receipts for parts or work in the boat? Do you have a trailer? Research the plate number and serial numbers.

Re: 318 to 350 swap

Been there, done that. I needed closed cooling and new engines. Found it was cheaper and easier to go with the 350 crusaders. Kept the Velvet drive 1:1 transmissions and the 1 inch shafts. Used the old rear engine mounts and the new Crusader front mounts. Any questions? Just message me. --Ed

Re: Motor refit

You are getting into naval design here, but you could get a rough estimate in the change of CG. Calculate the weight and arm of the engines and transmissions removed, and the weight and arm of the outboards added. Fuel tanks and batteries can be moved also to change the CG. I would say you could mov...

Re: Hull Anodes

The hull should be clean under the old anodes, so I just leave them on and blast and paint over them. Then remove them and put the new ones on. I put grey zinc anti-seize on the back and on the bolts for better contact and so they come off easier. Buy Aluminum anodes from Boatzincs.com They are so s...

Re: Help needed explaining marine power 350s

I have never heard of the Power Pac 350, but I put Crusader 350's in mine. You can get lots of 318's but all the accessories are getting harder to find (or impossible) and can be very expensive. Was cheaper for me to get the Crusader (Chevy) engines. I understand that the Volvo 350 also uses the Che...
