Re: A little crazy?

Thanks Tracy! I hope to get it propped correctly this year if they are available or possibly go with either a bravo 2 or 3 outdrive. The used market for bravo outdrives is still quite high for my taste, and I don't have $20k to drop on a pair of new ones. I will try to get a few more pics up of her ...

Re: Oil filler gasket- 318/360

Are the grommets are going to seal in place of the oil fill half turn? They will probably have to be quite thick. Should work if they are

Re: Raw water pump replacement.

If my memory is correct, the pump will unbolt from the mounting bracket. Doesn't matter when you remove hoses, before or after, whichever is easier. I believe the part number was a 10615K, sherwood impeller, but I could be wrong on that, and everything else.

Re: Uneven exhaust water flow

It is always a good idea when changing impel...

Re: Rudder repacking

Unless you have the dripless kind, a proper packing will let water in bilge while underway, the water lubricates the packing. While at the dock, you should have a drip every 5 to 10 seconds. It is one of the drawbacks, you always have water in the bilge.

Re: Possibly The Most Overlooked Preventive Maintenance!!!

Definitely ranks up there. There are so many different brands of fuel caps, one should find a spare that fits and keep it on board in case it falls overboard, which is known to happen. The other big preventative maintenance item is raw water impellers. A captain should change them out every couple y...

Re: A little crazy?

Thanks Joe, that is what I was shooting for, To make it look factory. Although it would have saved me a whole bunch of labor and engineering if they would have just done it in the first place. :D
