Re: keel fin

If you've ever run a, say, 20 foot IO boat, then you'll appreciate that keel! My 32 footer tracked dead straight, hands off the wheel, as we negotiated miles of no wake zones. By comparison, a 20 footers with IO drive waddle all over the place, even with constant steering corrections.

Wow, what a project! Where did you live? If close enough, perhaps some of our members could give you a hand.

Re: Dash Restoration

No way that dash panel will fall apart like the original foam ones could. Nice work!

Re: Dual 30 amp shore power

Definitely a good idea. Hard to believe that boats like ours can actually 'survive' while running on what, in essence, is a 120 volt extension cord!

Re: 1984 360 Head issue

Had that same problem with the Chrysler 360 in my old R/V. (Common problem with RVs.) I eventually solved it by braze welding a built up area where the head had been scoured out. I kept adding/ sanding the bronze weld--and the depression in the head--until the manifold and head met properly to fill ...

Boats don't use a vacuum advance.

Getting all the movable weight aft helps--especially the mother-in-law and etc.
