Ok I have ask this to many boaters in our area and looked for it on line. Does anyone know why if they already had the 318 in production making them why would they have tooled up to make the opposite rotation that had to be more costly then changing the rotation in the gear box?? I agree firing order and the spacer under the distributor is a quick way to I.D. them not running.

Ha I had to get in on this one. My Dad had a band named the Blue Mondays so with my last name being Monday it seemed fitting. Getting off the boat on Sunday makes Monday a little more Blue!

If you are talking about a product like Rust-Oleum leak seal tape it is really good stuff. I would not use it as a fix but for a get you home it works well in a number of ways.

Update for all . After cleaning the cap and talking with Pertronix they sent out a second unit for test. The new units have no screen like the O.E.M stuff and a sealed cap. This is the latest and greatest certified unit they have had tested and will be bring it to market. We did a little over 200 mi...

Good eye I have an email into Roger now. When I checked for my friend they had two part numbers and the last digit was a Red cap or Black. This one is what came with the unit. I did buy a spare rotor and cap so I'm sure I will start off with them next year. Coil is new from pertronix.

That's one of the things pertronix tells you to take out. Mine never had one with the old setup so its not an issure. I did keep it in on the friends boat just to see if it would make a problem and so far 1st year on his everything still running strong. Here is what the cap looked like I really thin...
