Re: HOW TO: Changing Raw Water Pump Impellers (Fastjeff Page)

The problem with the Sherwood pumps is the required maintenance that is NOT performed on most of them.
Sherwood: 4 years major rebuild kit Cost: 188.00
Sherwood: 2 years minor kit Cost: 80.00

Impeller: Every year
I just replaced both mine. The bearings no grease left lots of corrosion .

I would think that it would not work even jumping if it was an internal starter issue. When in doubt check GRO...

Re: Boat hull wax

I have buffed boats and show cars for yeasr. If you have original alkyd paint do not waste your time... You will heat it up and it will dull faster than before. Let it go and enjoy. Paint continues to cure until it is chualk and done.! Imrons etc. are better and will polish beter but each time you b...

Re: Pertronix Distributor Test

As many know I have been field testing the Pertronix Billet Distributors. This spring completes the test cycle unless Pertronix decides they want more time. 1. summer 1st season: Boat never ran better or started easier. 2. Fall: Slight corrosion from summer use. Springs clean, advance clean only sl...

Re: Sherwood Raw Water Pump

Pump was leaking. Tore down.. time was not good to her. Was leaking around shaft got to bearings and pulling air around shaft causing cavitation. Mr. Port I am sure is not going to be much better after 28 years and no rebuilds. I noticed increased bubbles in strainer at spring start up. Been down th...
