Re: solenoid
Hey Fastjeff,
Question on those other solenoids with battery cables running to them. That is the first time I have seen that on my "new to me" marinette. Necessary? Still do not completely understand the purpose and have seen the set up without.

Re: Can't get past 2000rpm
Not sure if this is part of it, but my distributor cap does not clamp down properly. One of the clampy things is jacked and does not hold the cap on all of the way, so its loosey goosey. Not sure if I can fix it or just need to replace. May or may not be part of the problem.

Re: Can't get past 2000rpm
Great - thanks guys will look at all of this info and see where we end up. I think it is a distributor issue.

Re: Can't get past 2000rpm
Agree the condition of the bottom can alter the speed of the boat, but not sure it is related to engine RPM's. Especially in a twin. It is just the Starboard that is giving me fits - will check into it this weekend. Thanks All

Can't get past 2000rpm
Hate to do this, as am sure it has been addressed somewhere on the site. But what do I look for on an engine that will not get past 2000rpm? I am thinking maybe springs in distributor? Don't see any issue with fuel, but who knows. Just frustrating as the Port goes to 3500, while the starboard will n...

Re: Non Chrysler Engine Options
Thanks, I probably just have to look at replacing the Chrysler 360's with Chrysler 360's. They do run good, but have a billion hours on them and leak oil like crazy. I really like the idea of closed cooling systems, just makes sense to me, so am looking for that in the upgrade.

Non Chrysler Engine Options
Anyone ever veer from the standard Chrysler engines and put in something different? Just curious for some ideas on re-power. Also if you could start over would you go big blocks or small for a 32?
