Re: Bow Hatch
Ours has a cushion that is tucked in the hatch opening. It's covered with the same material as our curtains. I thought the previous owner did it for insulation purposes since he ran the AC a lot. I have not experienced any condensation around the hatch but have some up toward the roof corner of the ...

Re: Just spotted 1978 37' with twin 440's
I think this boat is listed on POP Yachts also. There are a lot of pictures on their sight and boattrader. I've heard that it is hard to get out of their listing agreements. Rebuilt 440's could be a plus, but might need a lot of other work.

Hull Preparation & Painting
This is my first time & would like some advice... I was hoping this will be a simple process. I have power-washed my 28 M hull. It looks okay, but I think there is a film of "river much" still in some spots. My first question - can I use Shoreline hull cleaner on it? I always used it o...

Hull Plugs
While I have my 28 on the hard, should I remove and clean up the hull plugs? I assume that they were pulled in the past but I don't know for sure.
I believe that there are 2 in my boat - does that sound right?
The bilge is dry.

That is a meaningful name and a great story.
Mine is very simple at the moment... excuse the barrel we pulled out of the river that day...

Re: Wood panels
Just an idea to that I used. I was adding a door under the bed facing the galley hall so that we could better use and access the storage area. Otherwise we had to shift or moved the bedding to get to the top door that was under the cushions. Anyway i went to a local (Cambridge,OH) old RV dealer that...

1984 360 Head issue
I had an exhaust leak on the starboard side at the center ports. I removed the manifold- cleaned it up and put on new gaskets. It was okay for a while but the leak returned. I found that the middle-lower area at the middle ports was pitted and "eaten" away so the gasket started to blow out...

Re: Aluminum houseboat hull
It sounds like this boat was neglected for many years according to the current owner. Over the past 5 years it has been completely gutted & the hull sandblasted. The interior & systems appear to be refurbished nicely.

Re: Aluminum houseboat hull
Jeff,
We are looking at the one level concept as a big plus for our old bodies and dogs!
I haven't looked at this vessel yet, but may next month if it is still for sale. I will want to see it out of the water.

I also have these pictures of the keel area before repair. This looks bad to me.
