Re: Rebuilding a Kohler 7.5R23 genset

Will submit pics asap. Driving 10 hrs/day for Uber (pay increased bills/CC paymnts, but more impotantly, schtuff for boa & dock (rebuild) takes it out of ya. And building the 45' finger in 3 sections alone is also kinda daunting. ;) Taking tomorrow (Thursday)"off" ( no drive / no dock&...

Re: Rebuilding a Kohler 7.5R23 genset

I agree with Jeff. LiFePo4 batteries are the way to go. You can get a 100Ah pre-made battery for under 500.00. I opted to build my own. It's supposed to be portable but it's still hefty. Wanted something I could move between our 41'er and our fully tricked out popup camper. Mindset (a yittle warped?...

Re: Nightmare

It is possible that the bilge area might have gotten so cold (were there heaters in the bilge area?) that a thru hull froze and cracked, allowing water to enter. Hopefully, the damage isn't extensive or irreparable. You might consider the purchase and placement of a bubbler at one end of the boat. C...

Re: Coupler Alignment - Vibration

If you used Jeff's suggestion (recommended), you can get a pro look by getting a sheet or 2 of large vinyl (waterproof and a good look) letters at Office Depot or Staples.

Re: Need Bow Seat Cushion

Mine weren't lost just really old and in need of replacement. Made my own replacement set. Used the original foam cushions which were in good shape. For a lost one, if you decide to make your own, Sailrite.com Is a great place for foam. They have material not used in the originals: pour through foam...

Re: Coupler Alignment - Vibration

Just a question (for which I think I know the answer).... If there was no vibration before the chabgeout and the end result was due to a bent shaft where the strap had been placed, does the marina bear rresponsibility? And, followup, as we pay the marina a hefty sum for work, how do owners hold the ...
