Wax?? Need some guidance
Posted this on FB but didn't make much headway. Bough my M in the fall original paint is really really nice. I'd like to give her a nice coat of fresh Wax before putting her in the water. Do I use a boat wax designed for fiberglass or something more like automotive paint since it's more for painted ...

Oil leak without engine running?? Any ideas?
Went down to check on the boat today, I just bought it in the fall so haven't ran it much. Previous owner told me he thought the leak was a valve cover. I changed oil before winterizing. This is the starboard 360 which he had rebuilt and has about 50 hours on it. I've got oil sitting in the bilge?? ...

Re: 360 valve cover gasket replacement
Yea I'm probably going to do it the "right" way but those exhaust manifolds scare me and it looks like it can be a big project..

Re: Help with bottom paint prep
Thanks for the pointers. Think I'll end up using stainless wire brushes on a cordless drill. Would like to sandblast but not sure how big of a mess that would make and I'd need a gas powered air compressor. Might be doable as long as I could contain the mess as it's on in Jack stand at the marina so...

Help with bottom paint prep
So bought the boat in October. It's currently dry docked outdoors at my old marina, moving in the spring. I would like to put fresh bottom paint on as it has some wear/bare spots and I don't know the last time it was done. Question is what is the best way to prep with limited access to power/sand bl...

Re: Calcium Chloride, Will it eat my M?
Moisture absorbers are only effective in air tight compartments. At 70F and 40% RH, air contains about 10 grams of water per cubic meter of air. In a 32 foot Mrinette, there are about 60 cubic meters of air space. So, if there is absolutely no air exchange in the boat, you would need to collect 600 ...

Re: Calcium Chloride, Will it eat my M?
I assume it's in a plastic container, sitting on a counter, not in contact with the hull. If so, it shouldn't be a problem. I used moisture absorbing stuff for years with no visible effect. There's another product - I apologize, I cannot recall the name -- that was good at reducing mold. It release...

Calcium Chloride, Will it eat my M?
So I put a bunch of calcium chloride “B-dri” in my cabin to help keep moisture down but then started thinking I’ve seen chlorine airborne in a pool room eat out copper heat exchangers in pool heaters... any chance of calcium chloride affecting anything on the M?? First time with the M in winter.. ju...
