Re: Pertronix distributors
I've been using the Pertronix for six years or so. I clean the brass posts in the cap with a little wire wheel in a Dremel. I have significantly less trouble with the newer caps.

Do you have any Aqua Kem for deodorizing the holding tank? Might help

Re: Starboard wont go over 2000rpm under load.
I was wondering if your timing was advancing properly. Mine is mechanical advance and sometimes the weights and springs get some rust.

"If you do rebuild and say get another 25 years on the old girl that would be amazing."
Thanks for the good will! If I am still the Captain in 25 years, that will be amazing too.

Re: Obsolete Sherwood dual pocket CW pump
Don't be sorry yet, I'm not yet considering an automotive style setup. I believe that later models Chrysler 318 were fitted with a single raw water pump rather than the dual I have. Sherwood still makes the G7B and it looks like the mounting is the same as the old D60. The plumbing has to be differe...

Obsolete Sherwood dual pocket CW pump
I have Sherwood D60 pumps on my Chrysler 318s. They are discontinued along with the pump shaft which I need to replace. I believe I've located a shaft on ebay, but next time might not be so lucky. Has anyone found a workaround using some other pump? Has anyone tried a single pocket pump? I see one f...

Re: Old gas
On the full gas tank thing, my marina is OK with it not being full. Their big concern is that a really full tank will maybe spill if the boat swings in the travel lift. Anyway, at the refinery they taught that tank explosions happen in fires, and the tank will not blow as long as there is still liqu...

Re: Old gas
Bill, sorry to hear about the Admiral's lost boating season. I didn't think Seafoam had any preservative properties at all, rather that it was a varnish solvent. I am guessing that your fuel will lose octane based on my experience with my Airstream. It runs like crap on low octane gas and that's wha...

Re: Old gas
I was working across the Arthur Kill from this in the '70s. If I have the story straight, the tank was supposedly empty and they force ventilated it with air, so that workers could go inside.
