Re: blower vents

Broke bill it sounds like you bought the same ones I did. They work well, are reasonably sturdy and look way better than the plastic ones they replaced.

Re: Choosing a paint color

Thanks. I had Nowak Commercial Refinishing in Amity, PA do the job. If I had it to do over again, I would have stripped the hardware myself (So I could have had some of it re-chromed or replaced.) and had the deck painted white or a light blue. I had it done in the spring of 2012 while I was living ...

Re: Choosing a paint color

Here's mine before and after a full blown paint job:

I wanted the nonskid to be a lighter blue and that would have looked fine. The darker color can be hot on the feet.

Good luck,

Re: US Coast Guard Documentation ?

In days gone by people used USCG documentation to avoid paying state sales taxes on the purchase of their boat and the use taxes in states that have those. Of course the states got wise to this and cracked down. The requirement in PA is documented vessels have to display the PA renewal sticker (whic...

Re: Ohio River Rendezvous idea

That would be a fun trek for us. We were virtually bottled up in our pool most of the summer. Montgomery has the small chamber closed so every time some cowboy damages the big chamber we can't get down river. I believe you have more modern locks downstream, but the Pittsburgh district is a case stud...

Re: Want to Buy 28' x 8.5' Express

That is a nice looking 26, but you may have noticed the list was last updated in October 2014--John A was running it and undoubtedly stopped when he had his stroke.

BTW--anyone hear how he is doing?

Re: Removing the factory cabin vinyl from old wood panels

I replaced the panels in my 1977 and some spots were soft. To me it seemed a lot easier to remove the whole interior than strip the funky whatever it is off the panels. I used 1/4" plywood--while I generally dislike Lowes, they had some pretty nice underlayment that was serviceable--and back-pr...
