Re: Carb Problem
That would be my luck. Was thinking, just to confirm it is the carb I would switch the carbs, port to starboard and vice verse. Same amount of bolts-screws to loosen and tighten, just hate the thought of breaking the seal on a new carb.

Re: Carb Problem
Gauges are located between the inline filter and the carb inlet, filter's are new, Wix. After switching the fuel lines to opposite engines, running the port engine off the starboard fuel pump and the starboard off the port, and the port engine still stalling I'm of the belief it has to be the carb. ...

Re: Carb Problem
Did not, will check in the next couple days though. Would a clogged filter at the carb cause a pressure drop?

Re: Carb Problem
Drained the tank and replaced with fresh fuel last week, no don't smell fuel, mechanical pumps. On face value it gives indications of a clogged fuel line or filter, good flow through line and filters new, this is the reason I ran the port engine off the starboard fuel pump and vice verse. Could ther...

Carb Problem
After spending what I consider a small fortune on engines, transmissions, CARBS, etc. my port engine, after running about five minutes, begins to stall and stumble. Fuel pressure from start is reading a solid 5-6 lbs on both engines, gauge for each, after about five minutes at 2500 rpm's pressure dr...

Re: Replacing 2 Chysler 318's
Just pick mine up from the yard yesterday, complete rebuilds including struts, cutlass bearings, rebuilt transmissions, starters, alternators, water pumps, exhaust manifolds, carburetors, everything. Bill fell $18 shy of $15000, mine like yours originally came from salt water, although the last twen...

Re: Exhaust manifold temp
How old are the exhaust manifolds? Had a similar problem and found mine to be not completely clogged but very restricted, rust, corrosion, etc. Pulled the end caps and the risers off, rodded the manifolds out, LOT'S of rust, reassembled. Engines ran cooler for a very short period of time then starte...

Re: Sunken 32`
Drained my tank Friday, pulled the "fuel" through the fuel lines in order to get to the lowest part of the tank. First three or four gallon's were definitely contaminated, guess that big aluminum tank does a lot of sweating. Have considered installing a header tank in hopes catching the wa...

Re: Proper Carb Size for 318
Educate me and the rest on difference in the Holley, Edlbrock and the Carter. Had my Carters rebuilt, at not what I precieve as cheap and of this writing I still question if it was money well spent. They seem to work fine, far better than before, but the question still lingers.

Re: Proper Carb Size for 318
Did have my Carter's rebuilt supposedly to a "better than new" standard, per the cost, and not much cheaper than new Edelbrocks, I've often wondered if buying new wasn't the way to go. As a matter of principal I always try to stay with original equipment.
