I suppose if you could get it to the Mississippi, by truck that is.

Keep in mind too, that it is likely a fresh water boat and would need to be converted to a closed cooling system before entering the Gulf.

You can make the trip by water--loopers make their way through the lakes down the Chicago sanitary canal and into the Mississippi watershed. You'd have to do the calculations, but could also go the other way, through the canals and down the Hudson. It would be far cheaper and faster to ship the boat by truck. But if you're looking for some good sailors to drive or crew the boat you could find lots of candidates on this forum.

You don't have to have closed cooling if your in salt water. It's good idea, but tons of people run seawater cooling.

Some BigMs came from the plant with a freshwater flushing system. I understand it involved a valve just downstream of the seacock where the owner would attach a freshwater hose, turn on the freshwater, turn off the seacock and then turn on the valve to flush the engine. I heard about an owner in Florida who got the order wrong and attempted to flush the engine with the seacock open and sank the boat. (I can't see how that alone would do it, but that's the story.)

I have seen some freshwater flushing systems on the internet, but imagine it would be a bit of a pain to come back to the dock, move stuff out of the way, open the hatches and do the flushing operation on each engine after every use.

I believe it's Groco that sells an attachment to the seacock to accept a garden hose, then proceed as just described above. You could do it more elaborately by running the hose to a place on the deck where it's easy to attach instead of dragging one down to the bilge when you're tired after a trip

Yes. I had those seacocks in my 28'. They were great for winterizing--attach the hose and put it in a 5 gallon bucket of antifreeze.
