Rivnut tool

Years ago, FastJeff detailed how he had replaced the stantion bases on his boat. He used a method for setting the rivnuts into the hull which worked. I recently found that (gag, choke...) Harbor Freight sells a rivnut setting tool with rivnuts for 22.99. ( https://www.harborfreight.com/45-piece- ... XGEALw_wcB ) HOWEVER, the rivnuts included with the tool are smooth sided which means installing them would fall to the serrations under the flange of the rivnut AND the tightness of the set to keep the nut from turning as your tightening a bolt/machine screw into it.
It's far better to use a rivnut with serrated sides, as well as the underside of the flange (in conjunction with a tight placement of the rivnut). One place to buy these type rivnuts is Randall Nutset ( https://www.heritageparts.com/Manufactu ... lsrc=aw.ds
Using these two products should make remounting a stantion (or any situation where you need a threaded backing) a lot easier.
