Cleaning Risers

These have been installed for 30 years I figured it was time to inspect them. I'm glad I did because there was scaling and impeller peaces built up around the mixing tip of the riser restricting water flow :o . Flushed them out and some new gaskets (with silicone) good to go. I think they look amazing for there age got to love the BigM

Do yourself a favor and (if you can) and have those flanges surfaced by a machine shop. (They get out of flat over time.)

Be sure to silicone BOTH sides of the gasket with a THIN coating when reinstalling. and retighten the bolts after the motor fully warms up.
