Hey Maestro,
Was it pretty easy getting the Vetus hose on the fittings.I am attempting my install in the drink and am wanting to be quick about it.
Thanks to all..

You cannot do this !! Exhaust hose has a hard spirially wound single strand hard wire and will be ruined if you do this. Just cut the old off and use some slippery soap and water to install the new.

Edited: to clarify about how the wire was made in the hose !!

Lots, and lots of soap. More soap you use, the easier it is, and easier to wash your hands when you are done. In some places you can start the hose and then put a 2x4 across the end and smack it with a hammer. Watch out for that wire! If the hose was cut with a saw the wire will be extra sharp. Do yourself a favor and cut it off so it is blunt.-Ed

John,

I thought the Vetus hose was very easy to work with. Once the old hose was off, there was rust and scale on the exhaust elbow. I scraped this off and used a bunch of dish soap like others have suggested. New hose went on no problem.

You do have to watch it with that wire in both the old and new hoses. It'll give you one heck of a cut.
