Large Marinette fuel consumption
Large Marinette fuel consumption
Those with BigMs in the 37-41 ft range - what kind of fuel consumption is typical for these? Going slow vs cruising? I realize there are many factors that affect this but just curious for your estimates.

Re: Large Marinette fuel consumption
On my 37 with diesels, I get about 4.6 MPG on one engine at about 8 knots,(9.2mph) or about 1.43 MPG at 25 knots (28MPH). We generally only run one at about 1500 RPM.
One engine 1500-1600 @ 2 gal/hr and 8 knots or 2 engines @ 2600 at about 20 gal/hr and 25knots.
I have more time than $, so slow we go!
