One of a kind?

Post by keldridge »

I am new to the forum but I am enjoying the resource. I am just in the planning stages of updating a boat I just bought. The boat runs great and is great but is a time capsule from when it was made in 1966. I have attached a picture
Express yourself Port.jpg
. The boat is documented as a 1966 Marinette 31 Express. HIN is 1141563. I was told it was built for an employee and used as a boat show demo. She is powered by twin 426 Chryslers and has factory HVAC. I have not been able to find another 31 Express like it with Google searches. The 31's I have seen are true express boats and usually have the round window. If you have any information on this model I would appreciate your input.

looks like a fisherman model to me, although I've never seen one that old. Check out leviathan's recent thread on his new 32', looks about the same.

Yes it is the one in Louisville and yes those are the listing pictures of the boat I bought. Formerly "Stormy Weekend", now "Express Yourself".

Metalhead thanks for the welcome. I have already been told several stories about her. One that she would pull four skiers and the second that she will fly but will not turn at speed because she didn't have enough hull in the water! I bought her to make it a weekend cruise for my wife and I. Seemed just the right size for a couple.

I saw this one for sale a while back and thought it seemed like a really cool and unique BigM

Once you get her out for a few rides, I'm sure many folks here would love to see some speed/rpm performance data. Welcome aboard!
