Yeah; they're incredible. They also 'park' themselves in open water, remaining in the same spot regardless of wind and wave.

Computers!

One day last summer I helped a very nice family get underway and started to push the bow out and they said don't bother, I have Axius and I can make this boat go sideways. I can make my 28 go sideways too: one night I landed about four feet parallel to the dock and didn't want to go round again. The dock was to starboard so I spun the wheel hard left, put the port engine in forward and the starboard in reverse and she sidestepped right in. The onlookers were impressed--in fact lots of people are impressed that I maintain and handle what they think is an antique boat. With all this stuff, I sometimes feel like an antique too, but these advances make boating safer and that's a good thing.

Makes you wonder what the next advance will be. Maybe thorium propulsion . . .

The 'Flux Capacitor"!

When you screw up a docking, you simply go back in time and do it over! Works for me.

bcassedy wrote:I remember seeing pics of it. The specs on it, I can't recall. But yes, it was mounted at the rear of the boat, possibly on a swim platform. You might want to consider this unit:

That's cool. For some reason I think it would "grow legs" where I keep my boat docked.

Pretty sure that Lewmar involves cutting some serious holes in the hull!

I won't be cutting any serious holes in my boat. I'm looking to surface mount something on the transom.
