HIN on a Marinette 32

Post by weybug »

Hello,

About to register our new to us Marinette 32 for the first time. Arkansas now requires a photo of the HIN. Can not find HIN.

Maybe it is under 40 years of paint on transom? Just paid to repaint boat. Do not want to start ripping paint off.

Where on hull should an HIN be on a 1978 Marinette 32? Does it stamp deep enough that it might be visible from inside of hull?

Thanks

Number is stamped into the transom starboard top corner. you won't see it from the inside.

I may have to go at that with a sander to satisfy the state.

Anyone have a photo of exactly where it is? Would appreciate it if that could be shared.

I know you can't read the numbers but I think the annotated blowup is self-explanatory

Should be in the rub rail not on the hull.
I would use paint stripper if the rail is painted .

Yes, photo above meant to show rub rail location. It appears it may be a strip of metal screwed to the rail (but my recollection is faint and the numbers could have been stamped into the rail itself.)

BigM
The number could also be on a plaque inside the hanging closet door. 8-)
