I had my hull hydro blasted last spring. Since Interlux no longer makes the etching stuff, I applied 2000E as fast as I could after my hydro blasting guy finished (and the hull was dry to the touch). I'm sure I exceeded the "one hour within sandblasting" window that Interlux recommends for 2000E for certain parts of the boat. The hydro blasting left a rough profile on the aluminum, good for making paint stick.
The primer coats held up very well last season. We'll see how the next couple summers go but I feel pretty good about it.
I used Micron CF (copper free) as my antifouling paint over the 2000E primer. I was not as happy about how this part of the paint job held up. The antifouling paint wore away faster than I expected. Going to try touching it up for this summer. If it continues to perform poorly, I'm going to try something else.
