YouTube Video Series Aluminum Strut Fabrication

Post by RBrown »

I just finished watching a series of videos on YouTube of a machinist fabricating an aluminum strut for a boat. It looks like the strut would fit a 37', 39' or 41' Marinette. I thought it was very interesting.

In the last video he installed a bronze cutlass bearing with tef gel.. I would have put a phenolic bearing back in the strut.

I "mentioned" that to him.

Here's what happens when one doesn't use a non-metallic cutlass bearing.
