Wood panels
Wood panels
I'm restoring my 1990 29' marinette. I was wondering if anyone has replaced the salon wood panels and what color of stain they used? Thank you
Re: Wood panels
We used Interlux Interstain 42 Brown Mahogany.
We top coated the stain on the window trim with a Flat finish polyurethane.

I believe your boat should have teak, right? I bought my boat after it sank. The teak cleaned right up and after teak oil, looks fantastic

Re: Wood panels
Just an idea to that I used. I was adding a door under the bed facing the galley hall so that we could better use and access the storage area. Otherwise we had to shift or moved the bedding to get to the top door that was under the cushions.
Anyway i went to a local (Cambridge,OH) old RV dealer that sells a lot of original parts for camper brands that they have sold for 40 or 50 years. They have hundreds of cupboard doors, drawer faces and hardware from years gone by. I tried to match my cupboards as close as I could and bought the door panel for $5. It saved me from having match and stain wood for a use that isn't very visible.
Just a thought...
