Any one have any information on the Globe Run Dry impellers for Sherwood pumps??
Im only getting one season out of a rebuilt pump top to bottom everything new that you can put into the pump.
still have steam (not sure why) but these cost around double what the Siera impellers run and say they can run 15 min out of water and still be ok.
We will see ordered two today.

What part number are for the Sherwoods? Been looking for a cross reference, but no luck. Thinking of making the same modification.

I have read differing reports...will try to find a link
As has been said, impellers are cheap, engines are not

I have a set for my 1975 318's. I haven't put them in yet, but have seen great results in an old 305 chevy. Not sure if they make them for dual pocket pumps.

Well, took the pumps out this winter and installed the Run-Dry's. We'll see how long they last. The rubber ones dry up & get brittle in a couple years, these should outlast them based on seeing how long the blue synthetic coolant hoses work.

In my opinion the impeller is an annual maintenance item, I always replace once a year even if I put only 50-75 hours on which is a light year for me. It's cheap insurance to install a new impeller every year not to mention you then can check the bearing in the pump for roughness and or play. I've only ever had single engine boats so I might be a little paranoid, I keep an old impeller or two on board just in case...
