Head shower pan

Post by jennis9 »

Does anyone have an explanation or a diagram on how the shower pan in the head is plumed? I have a 32 express and dumped a bit of soap onto the metal shower pan and I am not sure how much got in there - but it was a goopy mess.

I'm not sure if the weep holes in the v channel are clogged or where they are - and of course this is the only system I have not tested.

I turned on the shower pump and dumped about three cups of water into the channel but it was a real mess. so I'm not sure if it got to the pump box.

Mine 32 express goes to the shower sump, then pump pumps it overboard , not into the bilge. I would think by putting hot water down drain it would make it's way to the shower sump.

can you snake a thin wire thru the drain?
UPDATE, referring to Carl's post just below where he gets specific. In my former '32, the sump was located just inside the entrance to the fwd v-berth, under the carpet. Very easy access.

Thank you! great suggestions.

I also love the HOT water suggestion. I was worried about the soap getting gummy, that should work well. I'll see if I can get it cleaned up - and I do know where I can get a new sump setup, so I should be covered. :)
