Another way to ventilate behind the fridge is to mount a computer high volume 12v fan at the vent cutout. It'd take a bit of wire running but the draw is minimal. The volume's sufficient for good air exchange. I've installed one between the hallway to the front berth and the head. Keeps the humidity down and also helps a lot with keeping the head cool in summer/warm in the fall.

Re: fridge removal?
Looking for a door seal for my Norcold model DE-704. No luck of course. Any ideas for a fix? May just replace with the dorm fridge like you guys are doing. I would like to see a pic of how you guys trimmed it out. If you get a chance take a pic for us.

Re: fridge removal?
In my '32 FBS, the fridge compartment in the galley adjoined the wall to the head. I cut a hole in that wall and covered it with a piece of stock louvre with screening behind it. That allowed somewhat more air to circulate in that closed space

Re: fridge removal?
If I recall more correctly, it was two holes, not one. One hole low, allowing cooler fresh air to enter and the other hole high to allow warm air to escape, setting up a small but useful air current. Batteries not needed

Re: fridge removal?
My 32 footer already has a 6 inch screened hole in the wall behind it. I installed a fan designed to fit on a floor register to blow cool air on the back of the apartment size 'fridge. Worked great for years.
