32 sedan bridge - location & accessing shower pan pump/reservoir

Folks,
I'm hoping someone will tell me there's an easy way to access the shower pan's reservoit/pump? The pump in our 32' sedan's sounding like it's on its last legs and I need to either service it or replace it. Anyone done this? What's the best way to accomplish it without reinventing the wheel?

Thx,
Bill
(currently clean but if the shower pump goes, all bets are off... )

Mine ('88 FBS) was very accessible and easy to swap out (but never had to). It's under the floor boards in the entry way to the v-berth. Lift the carpet and you'll see a board with a finger hole, lift and there she is. A very small capacity pump will do the job. I'm thinking that the float switch is more likely to fail than the pump.

If memory serves correctly, that shower sump also handles the condensation from the air conditioner so the pump must be enabled when you are running AC or you'll have a wet, moldy bilge. To simplify things, I always left the pump switch in auto with the breaker on. When I shut down the batteries before leaving the boat the pump, no longer needed, would be off.

Could you be referring to the forward bilge pump? There's a carpeted access panel with the O-ring finger pull for access. I knew of that one. Pump only has a single outlet hose that goes to an overboard fitting and does have the float switch. Activating the manual side of the fwd bilge pump switch on the console activates that pump(and the water in the fwd bilge goes down / is expelled from the air conditioner's condensation). No "gray water" present either from the shower. I did notice (when I had that panel up) there are 2 hoses running aft thru a sectional divider under the floor. I'm thinking one may be the supply line to the head from the water pickup fitting and the other might be coming from the shower pump and goes to its overboard fitting?

There are two finger holes up front. The forward board is the bilge pump. Then their is a finger hole behind it. The aft board gives you access to the shower box. I hope this makes sense. Their are two boards ,with finger holes .Joe

Once you get access, try cleaning the cylindrical filter in the box. That might cure the problem.

Yeah, Jeff. I'm hoping that'll be the case. Pump sounds like it's fighting to get started so it may be a buildup of crud from over the years.

Check the power - tight connections, etc?
