Officially have contract on the Marinette 37 sedan. Present electronics a Eagle 6100 so will need to upgrade. Are there transducers today that will work thru the aluminum hull, or will I have to drill a hole and mount it. Any suggestions, would like at least 9 inch display and at both stations. Thanks, Ray

I used a transom mount on my 32 footer and was never sorry. Had to buy the Humminbird extension cable ($$$) to do it.

Alumaducer makes shoot thru transducers that they claim will work on our M's. I have not tried on and like most use a transom mounted setup.

With a transom mount on inboards doesn't the prop wash cause problems with all that turbulence. ?? Do you mount it in center between the output from the two props. ??

I have two transom mounts located between the engines. They work fine to about 7-8 mph, then the turbulence makes it hard to pick up fish. But I can usually track bottom up to full cruise speed of 27-28 mph.

Need to be able to find fish while running around in the Gulf. We head for a marked spot and than need to see if any fish on it today and on the way to the mark also like to keep an eye out for fish. Guess I will have to cut a hole or two. Darn. Thanks.

Just recalled this: Airmar makes xducers for most mfr's of fishfinders. Call em to see whether there's one for your unit that will shoot thru aluminum.
