I noticed my new project...1960 Marinette Family cruiser did not have a galvanic isolator installed from the factory....
Does it need one...does it help reduce corrosion on the hull? I have one available on my '73 Marinette...hate to put a hull in the hull.... also hate to have the hull eaten up from electrolysis & corrosion... I have much to learn on this topic.

I am assuming your are talking about a Galvanic Corrosion Monitor like the OEM CAPAC. There are portable units available that will work just fine for checking your status. These are monitors and are NOT the impressed version which is still used on commercial ships which will help control galvanic corrosion.

A Galvanic Isolator or transformer is highly recommended on ALL boats with AC. Prevents DC leakage which there is always some entering on an AC shore power or Gen. circuit.
