CAPAC READINGS WHILE DRIFTING WITH ENGINE OFF

Post by Pipercubfan »

I GET LOW READINGS ON MY CAPAC METER WHILE DRIFTING WITH MY EGINE OFF. WHAT SHOULD IT BE READING?
AT MY DOCK WITH A GUPPY CLIPPED TO THE REAR CLEAT THE READING IS 1.0 WHICH SEEMS NORMAL . I AM NOT CONNECTED TO THE SHORE POWER.

THANKS.

What is the "low" reading? Also, the 1.0 reading is fine.
Is the boat otherwise properly zinced without using the guppy? What's the reading at dock with guppy off (should be similar to your readings adrift.
Engine on/off shouldn't affect reading - I suspect you've disconnected the guppy while you were drifting.
Finally, if you've brought the reading up to normal using the guppy when docked, I'd judge that you're fine because that's where boats spend most of their lives.
