37' Aft cabin needs to go

Post by louism58 »

Hi All
I am in Maryland and the boat is at Breezy Point Marina.
One of two things are going to happen in the next few months.
I am going to scrap the boat or give it away.

If you want a project it could be rebuilt, boat hull and 80% of the inside are in good shape.

I pulled the motors and had them rebuilt, they will not go with the boat for free but we can talk about a price.

Drop me a note if you are interested.

sorry to hear the boat and you are parting ways. The next owner will get a craft well cared for during its heyday

this is a long time ago, but weren't you in the Herring Bay area with the 37' boat - didn't we meet up once or twice

Correct!

I have the 37' boat at Breezy point now, had some major motor issues pulled them to get rebuilt and then had issues with the local guy doing the work. After 3 years and almost taking him to court I got the motors back. At that point priorities have changes and we were not planning on using the boat so I did not get around to putting the motors back in.

Wife and I decided we wanted to go back into boating but not with the 37 so I got a 32' it is on the Potomac near Stafford now. I am having the steering replaced and then will be moving it back to the bay. Am looking for a Marina around Annapolis or on one of the rivers up that way.

The plan with the 37 is to give it away (is a project boat at this point) or take what ever parts I want and then have the current marina scrap the boat. I do have motors, trans and a bunch of other parts I will sell if anyone is interested.

Sorry to hear that, Louis. I have fond memories running up the Bay in it with you years ago.

Good luck with new boat and new port. I also had mechanic problems (competence) and learned motor maintenance can be an expensive crap shoot. We ran out of steam in 2011 and were able to put the boat into new hands. Too old now to competently handle or maintain and am very able to come to grips with that.

Me too, Joel. My 19 foot bow rider made it only once to the water this year, and it may be going to my son-in-law next year.

Old age has caught to me.

Jeff

PS: Glad we never had that dink boat race, Louis, 'cause you'd have whupped me!

What are the motors, raw or fresh water cooled?
Who rebuilt them?
