Shaft size for 360's?

Post by balthaus »

I believe that a re-prop is going to be in my future.
Just wanting to check on the correct shaft size for our 32 Sedan FB with twin Chrysler 360's.
I believe they should be 0-1 1/4" but would like some input because I might have a chance to get props before I can pull the boat and install them.

1 1/4" on our 1986, 32 Sedan with 360s & 1.5 reduction.
Also had 1 1/4" shafts on our 1989, 28 Fisherman with 318's & straight drive.

I believe the earlier years had 1" shafts. At some point Marinette changed all to 1 1/4".

They used 1 inch for 1:1 drives and 1 1/4 inch for 1.52:1 drives.
