access door to swim platform

Post by mytoy28 »

Good day folks.

We have a 28' 1984 Marinette and want to do some changes to the stern. We are planning on making the swim platform wider and are wondering if anyone has installed a access door from the aft deck through the transom to the swim platform.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

thank you John

It has been done, and if I'm not mistaken, there are photo's of it on the archived pictures that were transferred from the old site, to the new one. You have to fish thru some of the first posting on this, the new web site, in order to find the link with all the M photo's. I know I have seen a M with a access door somewhere.....

Found it ! Joe, a.k.a. Marinetteman, one of our founding members, has the photos listed under one of his posts, from July 10, 2014. It is photo #33 of the 906 pictures in the archive. Lots of great pic's in there, for those of you that haven't looked thru them !

Thank you fellow members for the info, I also found 2 picture's on Diver Dennis photo album.
If the work to be done was all in STEEL it would be easy, but this is ALUM welding a different ball game,
John.
