Salon sliding screens

Post by balthaus »

Has anyone used a magnetic closing screen "door" system in place of the traditional sliding screen doors? By magnetic screen I mean to say more of something like a curtain track screen that the two pieces secure together via magnetics.

My son installed these on his 1977 37'' Marinette just last summer and they work very well. He is also a registered member of the forum and I'll ask him to reply with information as to what he bought..

That would be great!
The PO of our BigM put 1/2" ply over the original deck (both were rotted when we got her) and proceeded to cut the screen frames and the FB ladder to compensate.

My Son used the following company when ordering the retractable screen for his 37' Marinette. He was so pleased with the product and customer service that he wrote them a letter thanking them for their effort.
Screen Solutions inc.
6705 Hwy 290 W. # 502
Austin, Tx 78735
doug@plissescreen.com
866-571-8870

Cost delivered was $ 269.00 for a 57" wide x 70" tall with all hardware.

He has most of he original screen hardware from his 1977 37' big M and has asked me to offer it to anyone that might have a need. Only thing missing is the bottom slide which went overboard, necessitating the change to start with. He's much happier with the new arrangement as the old screen system had issues.

Hope this helps.

Regards to all,
