I have a 1982 Sportfisherman with twin Crusader V6 165HP. I added a transom gate and large swim platform. I also have a trailer. The boat is on Chautauqua lake in western NY.

Where did you get your swim platform, have considered that for a future project? What was involved in the transom gate? Both are great additions.

Re: Wanted 28" Sportsman
It has completely changed how we enjoy the boat. The kids and dog love it. I do most of my fishing off the platform. It is deep enough to use a folding chair.
The swim platform was made by Plasteak outside Akron,OH, https://www.plasteak.com. I sent them a cardboard template based off the original but lengthened. I then had a welder remove the old platform and install strut braces similar to the originals but extending lower down the transom.
The transom gate was relatively easy, once I was sure all the angles and edges would align. A 5/8 drill bit for the corners and a DeWalt 18V sawzall and a T square. I then closed off the gap with 1/2 in high density plastic sheeting, (similar to kitchen cutting board material). I'm not thrilled with the look of the plastic and was considering replacing it with aluminum. The railing and hardware were bought on line and a local shop bent it for me. I have some pics of the project and can post if anyone is interested.
