I replaced both distributors on my 318's with Mallory electronic distributors. Was having constant troubles with one thing or another always going on with the stock system. From loosing rpm's to completely dying at cruising speed. Had enough of that and went with the Mallory replacements from Marysville Marine along with Arco one wire alternators. A couple years on the new distributors with no issues.
