Well, it's sold. Got over 14 inquires in 24 hours, with 5 or 6 parties actually coming to the boat to check it out. (Had one party waiting as I showed it to another!) Then another showed up. Sheesh!

Obviously, the price was way too low, but she's going to a really good home. And I'm already looking into a 19 footer towed by an RV as its replacement. We got back into boating that way years ago, and we want to get back to it. Besides, the slip fees were killing is!

Not sure what I'm gonna do with my dink boat, however.

Wow Jeff. You pretty much gave it away. The super quick sale must have been satisfying; long sales are often anxiety ridden.

Congratulations on your sale.
We use a truck camper and pull our boat and motorcycle behind it. For me it is a lot easier to back my truck down the boat ramp than a motorhome.

Agreed, we 'gave' her away, but the slip. winter storage, and electric fees ran $4000 a year. So, if I tried to sell it for, say $8000, and it took another year, I'd net the same $4000.

And that is way Marinettes and other vintage boats are nearly worthless.

They become very affordable for many that have no business jumping into the game. They often forget the 4-7 thousand required just to keep them wet and stored in the winter. Add fuel and maintenance costs and you can easily exceed the undervalued Big M in a hurry. !

I am the same as most us... I love the boat and right now will be putting in a lot of money it a bare bottom paint job. Plus the cost of the slip and I am where Jeff and most of us are.

While our boats float... we are all underwater on them from day one.

When I saw your price in comparison to what I'd hoped mine would bring should I ever sell her I threw up a bit. Certainly a deal of a lifetime for someone.

I live in the real (expensive) world!

With our motorhome and a (not yet purchased) 19-20 foot I/O bowrider, we will go boating all over the place. One year's slip fees alone will pay for the new boat, and its 30-35 mph cruise speed will allow us to go a lot further each day---another hidden advantage (not to mention the vastly better fuel mileage). Of course, we won't be able to overnight on the hook--I'll miss that a lot. Oh well...
