Replacing my 318 with a new 360

Hey guys,

So I'm almost done with my home remodel and am starting to plan my spring time activities with my boat.

I started it up and it was knocking really bad. So I guess getting water in that cylinder did her in.

That said, I want to upgrade if I'm going to do all that work and $$ and the 360 gives me a bit more for the same money.

I want to just buy the long block package for $2500 (http://www.atlanticmarinestore.com/5-9- ... ong-block/) and put all the upgrades I did for my 318 on it.

As I understand it, I'll need a 360 specific oil pan, damper, flywheel

What else would I need that isn't in my list?

Right, and front mounts are also slightly different (I'm told). It would be a good move to locate a junker 360 and steal the parts you need for a long block won't have any of that stuff.

You'll need a prop upgrade as well--about 2 inches more pitch.

I did this complete swap 3 years ago. I can help with parts even, if needed. Send me a PM and we could talk over the phone about things if you like.

I posted a complete run down of the job as I completed. May be able to find some of it in a search, the engine section seems to be missing from the past.

Thank you!

Scott, I'll take you up on this :)

I would be interested in a confirmation on the front engine mount differences. It has been a few years since I did a swap. I don't remember the mounts being different.

I do have an oil pan, windage tray and oil pump for a 360 if you need one. As well as other parts for early LMs.
